CURRENT DEMO
David Lai has always had a fascination with music and photography. From his humble beginnings in school, he piloted the campus radio station, and was head photographer for the school newspaper. After graduating, David gained local fame in and around Los Angeles as a popular nightclub DJ. His passion for music and film eventually lead him to motion picture advertising at Kaleidoscope Films. During his time at Kaleidoscope, David pioneered the music supervisor role. While there, he recorded some of the most notable voice talents in the industry: Don LaFontaine, Peter Cullen, Miguel Ferrer, Ashton Smith, Melissa Disney, Scott Rummell, Andy Geller, and Corey Burton, among many others. David has worked with the groundbreaking editing guru, Skip Chaisson of Skip Film, for over twenty-five years. He has also worked as key sound architect to legendary director, Tony Scott on iconic films such as "Man on Fire," "Domino," and "Unstoppable." Once again in collaboration with Skip Chaisson, David started the El Rey Network for Robert Rodriguez, the rogue television and blockbuster digital content director. David is responsible for crafting the sonic signature of the El Rey Network brand. Currently, David can be found at The Refinery AV in Sherman Oaks, California, where he continues to pursue his lifelong passion making noise with some of the most talented and creative people in motion picture advertising.
